It is a gluten-free sweet made from 100% domestic rice flour. Generally, gluten-free sweets made from rice flour are said to be difficult to prepare as the dough tends to be dry, but Toritama Baum is a popular Baumkuchen with a moist texture that you wouldn't expect from rice flour.

Toritama Baumkuchen is made from rice flour, but the chickens actually also eat rice along with our proprietary feed. Eggs from chickens raised on rice are commonly known as "kome-tamago" (rice eggs), and Toritama Baumkuchen uses these "kome-tamago" (rice eggs) as its main ingredient. Quality eggs come from healthy chickens. Rice, which contains most of the nutrients necessary for human health, is said to be a complete nutritional food, and the same is true for chickens. On our farm, the chickens grow up healthy and strong, eating rice produced in Yamaguchi Prefecture and drinking fresh water pumped from 100 meters underground in Tokuji, a famous spot for fireflies and with clean water quality. We use generous amounts of fresh eggs just harvested by egg farmers, so you can enjoy the rich flavor of the eggs themselves. This is the most popular flavor in the Toritama Baumkuchen series.
